lighttpd forum XCache > Why using swap?

Quick question, why does XCache (and IIRC eAccelerator) use swap space? 
It's not much, will only creep up to about 10MB over a day.  Just 
wondering why it dips its fingers into swap at all though.  Without an 
opcode cache swap stays locked at 72k

em, add some memory to the server...

There's plenty of free RAM.  Also, apache restart takes swap back to 72k 
:)
